(Ezek 18:27 NIV)  But if a wicked man turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he will save his life.

 (Ezek 18:30 NIV)  “Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each one according to his ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.

 (Ezek 18:31 NIV)  Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, O house of Israel?
God wants to give us a new heart and a new spirit.

(Heb 8:10 NIV)  This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

(Heb 8:11 NIV)  No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.

(Heb 8:12 NIV)  For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

Where should our hope come from? 

(Psa 62:5 NIV)  Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him.

(Psa 62:6 NIV)  He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

(Psa 62:7 NIV)  My salvation and my honor depend on God ; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

(Psa 62:8 NIV)  Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Selah

 Trusting in God gives us hope which produces the faith that we need, especially in times of trouble.

Some scripture to turn to in times of need.

(Heb 13:5 NIV)  Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

(Heb 13:6 NIV)  So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

(Rom 8:28 NIV)  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

 No matter what we encounter in life, may we trust God to use it draw us closer to Him,

(Col 3:1 NIV)  Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
