Are you happy? Does life have meaning for you? Do you have a purpose for living? It seems that at sometime in our lives we all ask these questions. Is there answers to these questions? There is if we are willing to listen.
First Question are you happy? Many today try to find happiness in physical things, drugs, alcohol, sex, etc. What are we told to do to find true happiness?

(Eccl 2:26 NIV) To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

(Mat 25:21 NIV) “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
God created everything we need to be truly happy, the key is to allow Christ to come into our lives and share that happiness with us.
Second question Does life have meaning for you? Read Psalms 139:1-24 God has a plan for our lives, to have real meaning in our lives we need to allow God to work out His plan for us.
Third question, Do you have a purpose for living?

(Mal 3:14 NIV) “You have said, ‘It is futile to serve God. What did we gain by carrying out his requirements and going about like mourners before the LORD Almighty?

(Mal 3:15 NIV) But now we call the arrogant blessed. Certainly the evildoers prosper, and even those who challenge God escape.’”

(Mal 3:16 NIV) Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name.

(Mal 3:17 NIV) “They will be mine,” says the LORD Almighty, “in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him.

(Mal 3:18 NIV) And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.
We are called to serve a God that loves us so much that He was willing to give His life for us. When we understand how much we are loved, that should give meaning to everyone’s lives.
If you have any questions, just e-mail them to me. I am here to help in any way I can.

Have you ever taken time to look at how God would like to have us worship Him? He gives us some instructions over in the book of Romans.

(Rom 12:1 NIV) Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship.

(Rom 12:2 NIV) Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

(Rom 12:3 NIV) For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

(Rom 12:4 NIV) Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function,

(Rom 12:5 NIV) so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

(Rom 12:6 NIV) We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.

(Rom 12:7 NIV) If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach;

(Rom 12:8 NIV) if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

(Rom 12:9 NIV) Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
Here God gives us instructions on how to worship Him. The question is will we be willing to follow these instructions?
I invite you to join us in worshiping God in a way that we can know for sure it is pleasing to Him.

Have you ever taken time to look at what Christ is trying to do with us? There is a change that He would like to have take place within each of us. Christ wants us to expand our minds. He would like to have us to think not only on a physical level but to allow the Holy Spirit to help us think on a spiritual level. Notice what we are told in Hebrews.

(Heb 8:10 NIV) This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

(Heb 8:11 NIV) No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.

(Heb 8:12 NIV) For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

(Heb 8:13 NIV) By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.
Christ has established a New Covenant with humanity, a covenant that leads to eternal life.

(Luke 22:19 NIV) And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

(Luke 22:20 NIV) In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

(2 Cor 3:6 NIV) He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant–not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Today Christ wants to open our minds to understand that there is more to life than just getting our physical wants and needs met. Christ wants to expand our way of thinking. The way He can do that is to have you an me to study His Word , The Bible.
I encourage you to learn about this New Covenant, it contains a lot of wonderful things for you an I.
Pastor Jim Meade

Who is the God of the Old Testament? Some are not sure who it was that worked with the nation of Israel. God’s word the Bible has the answers, we just need to search them out.
We find in God’s Word that it was the one who became Jesus Christ that was with Israel in the desert.

(1 Cor 10:1 NIV) For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.

(1 Cor 10:2 NIV) They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

(1 Cor 10:3 NIV) They all ate the same spiritual food

(1 Cor 10:4 NIV) and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
We see that it is the one who became Jesus Christ that created humanity, has worked with us from the very beginning and is the one who will judge us on judgement day.

(Col 1:13 NIV) For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,

(Col 1:14 NIV) in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

(Col 1:15 NIV) He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

(Col 1:16 NIV) For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

(Col 1:17 NIV) He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

(Col 1:18 NIV) And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

(Col 1:19 NIV) For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,

(Col 1:20 NIV) and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
Christ from the very beginning has always been there to stand by us in the good times and the bad times. Why not let Him help, it can’t hurt.

Do you pray? We should. In God’s word we are told to always pray.
Having a hard time with your prayers, here are some examples of how to approach God in our prayers.

(Psa 5:2 NIV) Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.

(Psa 5:3 NIV) In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

(Psa 5:4 NIV) You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked cannot dwell.

(Psa 5:5 NIV) The arrogant cannot stand in your presence; you hate all who do wrong.

(Psa 5:6 NIV) You destroy those who tell lies; bloodthirsty and deceitful men the LORD abhors.

(Psa 5:7 NIV) But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house; in reverence will I bow down toward your holy temple.

(Psa 5:8 NIV) Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies– make straight your way before me.

(Mat 5:44 NIV) But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

(Mat 5:45 NIV) that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

(Mat 26:41 NIV) “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
These are just a few examples of how to pray.
Why not take time to run a search through the bible on how to pray, it can’t hurt and you may be surprised on how it can help.

We are called to be Ambassadors for Jesus Christ. What kind of Ambassador are you?

(2 Cor 5:20 NIV) We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

(2 Cor 5:21 NIV) God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

(2 Cor 6:1 NIV) As God’s fellow workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.

(2 Cor 6:2 NIV) For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
God wants to use us as living examples of His way of life. If we claim to be a Christian and are living contrary to the way God would have us live, we are not only hurting ourselves, but everyone that we come in contact with. Whether we want to believe it or not, others judge God by the way we live our lives.
We all need to look at our lives and ask the question, ” What kind of Ambassador am I for God?”
Pastor Jim Meade

He is Risen, three word that changed the world.

(Mat 28:6 NIV) He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

(Mat 28:7 NIV) Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
Just as the angel told the women, today that same message is given to all of us, HE IS RISEN! and because Christ overcame the grave, you and I can experience the same thing.

(1 Th 1:10 NIV) and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead–Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.
Jesus overcame death so that you and I can be rescued from the wrath to come.
Isn’t that reason enough to look into what God wants to do for us through His Son Jesus Christ?

(John 3:16 NIV) “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

(John 3:17 NIV) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
This time of year is about change and we can experience that change if we will only allow Christ to do the changing.
